New Spring/Summer Skin Care Review

With the new season heading into spring/summer my skin needed a bit of a change and some lightly formulated skin care. I would say it was a hard to pick but it wasn’t, I am head over heals in love with my new additions for my skincare. They have made a big difference at how I look at my skin and the product that I have been using in the past and if they have been giving me the results I am looking for. What is important to me now as i am in my 30’s.

I hope you enjoy these products as much as I have.

How to use:

I take the sheet and gentle take off any excess makeup avoiding the eye area.

My thoughts:

  • It does the job very well. It leave my skin very hydrated and clean after use.
  • I would repurchase it again.
  • Purchased at $11.49  Priceline

How to use:

I use a dime size powder on my palm and miss it in with some water. Once I have a paste ready I gentle apply it on my forehead, cheeks and chin. Applying in circular motion from the centre of my face moving in the outward motion.

My thoughts:

  • The packaging is so travel friendly and I will definitely take this with me to Singapore next month.  The bottle is clear and you see the natures goodness in all its glory.
  • A finely milled brown rice powder and clay exfoliant, this travel-friendly formula is rich in antioxidants and beneficial oils. I can totally imagine Parisian women using it to gently polish and clarify their skin.
  • I use this on the days when my skin needs an extra cleanse to get rid of my dead winter skin. It does the job so well. I have to say its worth all the hype that the beauty editors are raving about.
  • This will definitely be my go to polish for my face this spring/summer season.
  • I would definitely recommend trying this from the French girl brand products.

How to use:

The product looks and feels just like your average clay mask. You’re to apply a thin layer all over your clean dry skin and wait about a minute for it to grab on. Then, give yourself a hearty face massage and keep at it until you notice the material starts to “pill” and roll onto itself, forming little eraser-dust-looking rolls that fall off your face (so maybe do this over the bathroom sink). Those nubs are your dead keratin cells that the mask has clung onto. You have to rub either quite hard or for quite a while—a bit of both, we find—to really get all of it rolled off. The AHA and lactic acid are the exfoliating factors that kick in after the kaolin has sucked up all the excess oil and sebum. Shea butter and vitamin E make sure you don’t feel overly stretched-out and dried out afterwards. Mario Badescu recommends using one of their toners to sweep up excess cream/peel that you couldn’t scrub off, and to balance your skin’s pH afterwards.

My thoughts:

  • The tube packing is great and easy for application, also the product is not wasted.
  • I use the Mario Badescu Rolling cream Peel once a week. I have to say that this product remind me of the Etude Ezeme peel, but its more easy to use as I don’t have to rub it for too long and the scent is very pleasant.
  • The texture is very easy to work with.
  • The aftermath is just smoother skin without any harsh granules or abrasiveness. I haven’t experienced any reactions and so far, I’m pretty happy with this.
  • Purchased at Mecca $26

How to use:

I apply this toner with a cotton pad starting from the centre of my face moving in a outward motion. Making sure I not applying to much pressure and letting the product work its magic on my freshly cleansed skin.

My thoughts:

  • The packaging of this product is amazing as its very hygienic and easy for application with the lift up nozzle on the cap you tip the required amount of the product onto your cotton pad or ball.
  • I have been using Mario Badescu Toner for the past 3 weeks. I haven’t noticed a big difference in my skin appearance. This is the first time I am using a glycolic acid toner in my skin care routine, so I am allowing my skin to first get use to the product.
  • I use this toner only at night when I am not in direct contact with the sun as it make your skin sensitive to sunlight.
  • I have to say the texture of my skin has definitely improved since I started using this toner. The small bumps on my forehead and cheek area have almost disappeared.
  • The scent is strong for this product if you don’t like that you might not enjoy it.
  • Purchased at Mecca $26

How to use:

Use it after you have done the step 4 in your skin care routine. I always apply my mosturiser after I have used a serum all over my face and neck.

My thoughts:

  • The packaging is very sleek but not very hygienic, but I find that with most of my moisturisers. I have to use a spatula to get the required amount of product out on the back of my hand.
  • I use the Estee Lauder DayWear creme everyday in my morning skin care routine, as its spring here in Australia. Changing your skin care with the seasons is so important. As it start to get warmer using a light and easy formula is so much appropiate for your skin.
  • This formula is perfect as its light and doesn’t make my skin oily or sticky. It makes the make up application a dream.
  • It has SPF15 which is very important for my everyday protection from the sun. Specially if you live in Australia where the sun is not very forgiving.
  • Purchased at Myer $ 75

How to use:

Dispense an appropriate amount (2.5cm in diameter) and apply on the tip of the nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin in dots; breathe in the scent for 3 seconds.

Spread gently along the texture of your face using outward strokes.

After the product is absorbed into skin, leave it on overnight without washing the face. (Wash the face the next morning)

My thoughts:

  • The packaging is very stunning and feels  very high end. The product comes with a spatula, which is great as its help with not contaminating the rest of the product with your fingers.
  • The Lineage water sleeping mask has soon become one of favourite masks in the past month. My skin has never felt so hydrated and soft.
  • I use this mask twice a week. The formula is very light and sleeping with it is very comfortable.
  • I apply it after I have  moisturised my skin and leave it on at least 30 mins before I go to bed. This way the skin has soaked in all the product so it doesn’t rub off on the pillow.
  • The basic premise behind Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is to give your skin an added hydration boost and to fortify the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
  • Some consumers may experience irritation due to the fragrance in the formulation, or an allergic reaction due to some of the botanical ingredients. I personally did not mind the scent or experience any allergic reaction in the past month.
  • Would definitely repurchase it.
